Tip #6: Clear the space completely.
As you start to organize, you realize that it becomes more of a mess before it gets better. As you start to organize, first clear the space and don’t put anything back until the space is clear and you have already purged the items. There are two ways to go about this. First, you can completely clear the space (i.e. closet, wardrobe, bookshelf) and then start organizing, sorting and purging. Or, you can start pulling items, organizing, sorting and purging and then ensure the space is completely clear before putting things back.
When you clear the space completely as you organize, it allows you to re-envision the space. Clearing the space helps you have a clear mind to put things back in a logical and proper order in way that will work for you. Its possible the mess was a result of the space not being set up in an ideal way for you and your life. Clearing the space helps you reorganize in a better way.
